Hunters Of Tomorrow Program

 HOT ProgramBy: BADF Online

The Hunters Of Tomorrow (HOT) program is all about introducing young people to hunting. You can share your knowledge of the outdoors with your son or daughter, grandchild, or even with a youngster who has never had the opportunity to hunt before. Sharing your knowledge and love for the outdoors can leave a lasting impact on those young lives, and even if they don't become life-long hunters will give them a better understanding of the wild and the natural cycle of life.

The program is simple. Abiding by all applicable laws and regulations in your state or province, take a young person hunting! There are plenty of young people who have no means to hunt even though they have the desire. Many times there is no adult figure with experience who can help.

The HOT program is not just limited to young people, although young non-hunters are the prime candidates.

There are many things you can do such as assisting a child in obtaining the proper hunter education classes and eventually even the license. Next, introduce that person to all the aspects of hunting that you enjoy. Scouting, equipment setup, shooting at the range -- all are part and parcel of the hunt.

If a youngster doesn't meet the minimum age requirement for hunter training in your area, he or she can still sit with you on a stand or walk the woods (check local state and provincial regulations). There will be plenty of questions to answer and ideas to contemplate. Explain the value of hunting as the primary means of effective wildlife conservation. There are many ways you can share what you have learned and help spark a youngster's interest in the great outdoors.

If you would like to participate in this program, please send in photos from your hunt with a short story attached. Buckmasters will send you an attractive window decal with the Buckmasters HOT logo, and your little hunting buddy will receive an autographed photo of Jackie Bushman. Whether you harvest an animal on the hunt or not, Buckmasters will display your photo and article on the website for an entire month. Young people are our future, and it is our goal as sportsmen to help them understand what hunting and hunters truly mean to wildlife and the environment.

Get HOT with Buckmasters.
